Your schedule and your organic garden are about more than just when you can work on it. While organic gardening is a way of stress relief for many people, often it isn’t for the other members of their household. Perhaps you are planning a garden that does not require much maintenance, but you still want to be able to enjoy it right? Consider this. When creating your lawn or garden, remember the hours you are likely to be home and enjoy it. Do you get up early in the morning to leave for a run or work? Do you walk in the evenings? Do you enjoy natural organic lawn care in the meantime as well?
If you are more of a night owl than an early bird type, consider making your garden a beauty during the day that really comes alive at night. Lighting elements and night blooming flowers and vines are one of the best ways to do this. Placing lantern that look like old fashioned street lights may be your thing, or even some of the edgy artistic lights that work in and near water as well as on grass, gravel and stone.
Human eyesight is not exceptional at night so lighting is essential even if you live in an area that has clear beautiful nights because the moon is not always full or bright enough to show off your work. A great example of a night flowering vine is moonflower. It is important to remember that moonflower vine is called Ipomoea Alba because there is another flower called a moonflower although it is not a vine. The blooms on this vine are white fragrant flowers that only open at night.
For the early bird, you have the sight advantage of your garden. A lot of popular beautiful flowers open to sunlight but do your research. Some open at dawn and shut in strong light while others only open in strong light so if you are unlikely to be home in the afternoon, consider an early morning bloomer like yourself.
